Monk support/healer skill build in Diablo 3

In my last article about The Monk, I explained that he is a versatile fighter which can inflict enormous damage on a single target, but what makes monk special is his mantras which makes him a precious ally in cooperative play. Sacrificing a bit of damage for mantras can give his party the edge in surviving from a death situation, even in the upcoming PvP. So in this support build for the Monk I will try to put the party first and the Monk second.

In this monk build (or monk guide if you want), I will try to explain why the monk is essential in a party and how mantras and his single target massive damage will make the difference from failure to succes. Maybe you will come and say that you need to sacrifice the dps (damage done) for the mantras but it`s not entirely true because you can have only one mantra active at the time, so I think that a good strategy will make the monk to have only one slot for mantra and keep the dps skills in the other slots, sacrificing maybe a defensive skill. For example if you have a barbarian in the party he can tank more easy than you. Let's see all of the advantages and disadvantages of this monk support build in Diablo 3.

Active Skill list:

1. Way of the hundred fists - Unleash a rapid series of punches that strikes enemies for 140% weapon damage + Windforce flurry rune
2. Wave of light - Focuses a wave of light that crushes enemies for 215% weapon damage as Holy, followed by an additional 45% weapon damage as Holy to all enemies in a line + Wall of light rune
3. Inner sanctuary - Create a runic circle of protection on the ground for 5 seconds that cannot be passed by enemies + Forbidden Palace rune
4. Exploding Palm - Cause a target to Bleed for 220% weapon damage as Physical over 3 seconds. If the target dies while bleeding, it explodes and deals 30% of the target's maximum Life as Physical damage to all nearby enemies + Essence burn rune
5. Cyclone Strike - Pull all enemies within 24 yards towards you, followed by a furious blast of energy that deals 100% weapon damage as Holy + Soothing Breeze rune
6. Mantra of Healing - Recite a Mantra that causes you and your allies within 40 yards to gain increased Life regeneration by 310 Life per second. The Mantra lasts 3 minutes. + Time of Need rune

Passive Skill list:

1. Pacifism - While you are under a Stun, Fear or Charm effect, all damage taken is reduced by 75%
2. Chant of Reasonance - Duration of all Mantras increased by 7 minutes. While one of your Mantras is active you gain 2 Spirit every second

Advantages of this Diablo 3 Monk support build:

- Decent tanking
- Healing + invincibility skills
- Good aoe damage
- Exceptional in parties on later difficulties

- A bit gear dependent
- Lower DPS than usual
- Low armor for later difficulties
