After the Barbarian defensive build, I decided to make a Wizard build, because in my opinion the Wizard in Diablo 3 is one of the most offensive characters in the game because some of his skills can inflict an insane amount of dps, but can be enough? Today I will try to write about a balanced build where you can escape from death situations called survival build, but also build which can still cause a lot of damage, I will list all the advantages and disadvantages of this build.
Active Skill List:
1. Spectral Blade - Summon a spectral blade that strikes all enemies in your path for 135% weapon damage + Thrown Blade rune
2. Arcane Orb - Hurl an orb of pure energy that explodes when it hits, dealing 175% weapon damage as Arcane to all enemies within 10 yards + Arcane Orbit rune
3. Teleport - Teleport through the ether to the selected location up to 35 yards away. + Calamity rune
4. Wave of Force - Explode a wave of pure energy that repels projectiles and knocks back nearby enemies. This also slows the movement of enemies by 60% and deals 200% weapon damage as Physical + Impactful Wave rune
5. Energy Armor - Focus your energies, increasing your Defense by 65% but lowers your maximum Arcane Power by 20. Lasts 120 seconds + Prismatic Armor rune
6. Mirror Image - Summon 2 illusionary duplicates of yourself that last for 9 seconds and have 25% of your Life. The images may cast some of the same spells as you, but those spells deal no damag + Mocking Demise rune
Passive Skill List:
1. Blur - Decreases melee damage taken by 20%
2. Illusionist - Whenever you suffer more than 15% of your Life in a single hit, the cooldowns on Mirror Image and Teleport abilities are automatically reset.
3. Unstable Anomaly - When reduced below 20% Life, release a shockwave that knocks all enemies back. This effect cannot occur more than once every 60 seconds.
Advantages of this Survival Buid for the Wizard in Diablo 3:
- Decent Dps
- Good Aoe
- Good Armor
- You can easily escape from death situations
- It can be easily tweaked for more DPS
Disadvantages of the Survival Build
- Bad for normal difficulty
- Requires a good resource management
- Gear dependent
- Dps not maxed out
I hope you'll find useful this survival build for the Wizard in Diablo 3. Note that the game has not been launched yet when this guide was posted, so maybe there will be room for improvements after Diablo 3 goes live.
